Benedicta Ama Batcho is the founder of AmaCares.  ‘Chief Volunteer’ as she is affectionately called, Ama is a philanthropist with rich experience of supporting under privileged children with various challenges. Growing up in an environment where child sexual abuse was prevalent, she recognized the challenges faced by young victims of sexual abuse, especially the associated stigma of abuse, which prevents children from reaching their full potential in life. Ama started supporting young victims at an early age. She used the experience gained to mentor youth with a varying set of challenging issues including youth who have been expelled from school for various reasons. In 2017, having gained significant exposure and experience in youth support work, she set up Amacares to specifically focus on supporting children who have been victims of sexual abuse or at risk of being abused. Ama is passionate about her work and dedicates her life to supporting youth in our communities.
